Les Yeux du Monde will present FLORILEGIA: Paintings by Anne Adams Robertson Massie and Annie Harris Massie from 16 November – 30 December 2012. There will be an Opening Reception with the mother/daughter artists on Friday, November 16 from 5:30 – 7:30. Anne Adams Robertson Massie is well known for her exquisite watercolor paintings, which have received countless awards and recognitions, including the American Watercolor Society Gold Medal of Honor and the VA Watercolor Society Best in Show award twice. Daughter Annie Harris Massie has exhibited with Les Yeux du Monde since 2003 and is well known for her evanescent oil paintings of light and place. Her works reside in major public and private collections, including most recently the new Martha Jefferson Hospital and the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center in Charlottesville. She also is the co-founder with her brother of the outdoor furniture company, McKinnon and Harris in Richmond, which has received international acclaim and recognition. The paintings by both artists, although different in medium, are mostly derived from floral imagery, thus the title of the exhibition, "FLORILEGIA” from the Latin "flos" for flower and "legere" to gather.
