In April 2011, the Garden Club of Virginia’s Historic Garden Week will celebrate 78 years of preserving Virginia’s heritage. The 2011 tour in Charlottesville and Albemarle County is presented by: the Albemarle Garden Club, the Rivanna Garden Club and the Charlottesville Garden Club. This year’s tour will include: Farmington Country Club and some of its neighborhood’s private homes and gardens, as well as the Morven Estate, the Pavilions on the lawn at The University of Virginia, and Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson. Events throughout the tour will include house and garden tours, lectures, an exhibit interpreting art through flowers, and panel discussions. All funds raised benefit the restoration of historic Virginia properties. Please see our website for event locations and times.
