Jefferson Theater

Located on Charlottesville’s historic Downtown Mall, The Jefferson Theater was established in 1912 as a live performance theater that played host to silent movies, vaudeville acts and a historic list of live performers, ranging from Harry Houdini to The Three
Stooges.

The Jefferson reopened on November 27, 2009 after a comprehensive restoration that highlights the
theater’s vintage architecture while modernizing its facilities. The theater features two full‐service bars on separate floors, a restored balcony, new central air and heating systems, and new restrooms throughout the facility. In addition, state‐of‐the art sound and lighting systems and treatments to the theater’s acoustics make The Jefferson an excellent environment to experience live music.

Special guests The Last Bison & The Sally Rose Band Chamomile met Whiskey in the winter. The soft blue of the cold sky was melding into the Blue Ridge mountains, and a crescent moon was on the rise. Marie Borgman and Koda Kerl had recently finished a cross country tour which had taken them across steep mountain ranges ... to rocky coastlines, and lead them to the Redwood forest ... it was there, underneath the towering trees that they realized they needed to start a band. Upon returning home... Visit Website

Colt Ford is back with his best album ever and all it took was a return to his roots. Declaration of Independence, released on Colt's own Average Joes Entertainment, will no doubt go down as one of the most noteworthy releases this year, which is saying a lot for a man who has already sold nearly a million albums and 3 million downloads. From planting his patriotic flag on the album's first track, "Answer to No One, "and closing the album with a prayer on the poetic, honest, and heartf... Visit Website

With feet firmly planted in the old-time song tradition, hands soiled by the dirt of rock n' roll and eyes fixed steadily on the future of real country music, the Hackensaw Boys are among the most exciting groups charting new territory in today's diverse Americana music scene. Everybody sings a bit of lead, everybody sings a bit of harmony and most members know when to shut up. Instrumentation includes banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, upright bass, charismo (a home-made tin can contra... Visit Website

When Cut Copy offered their hand on Where I'm Going, the first leak of their third album, it was an open invitation to an uncharted destination. The festive explosion of kaleidoscopic Californian acid hippie reborn as UK glam star explored new terrain, hinting a further evolution for a group that is yet to make the same record twice. A melting pot of ideas streaming from a collective of music fanatics, the album embraces new combinations that span a rhythm section on motorik overdrive (Alisa), t... Visit Website

Japandroids is a two piece band from Vancouver, BC. This ‘band' started in 2006 and consists of Brian King and David Prowse. Originally intending to be a trio, the boys decided to forego the logistical nightmare of having a ‘lead singer' and do it themselves. As a consequence, Japandroids are one guitar, one set of drums, and two vocalizers. Japandroids are maximal – a two piece band trying to sound like it's a five piece band. Their ‘songs' run the gauntlet of rock &... Visit Website
