Charlottesville City Market
The Charlottesville City Market is open every Saturday morning in April through December. Located on West Main Street across from the downtown mall, the market takes place between the Main Street parking garage and Mono Loco Restaurant at the corner of South and Water Street. The market begins at 7:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm on Saturdays in April through October and goes from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays in November in December as a part of the Holiday Market. The City Market, which was opened in 1973, has been running now for 40 years and is Charlottesville’s oldest open air market. The City Market offers something for every visitor, including local produce and meats, homemade bread and baked goods, fresh roasted coffee and freshly made donuts, a variety of plants, authentic Mexican cuisine made on the spot, handmade gifts, specialty food items and more. The Charlottesville City market offers a large selection of all things local and is a Charlottesville tradition not to be missed.
