Judges Choose 3 Winning Images from the 500+ Photos Submitted Charlottesville, October 20, 2016 - The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce the winners of the ‘Capture Charlottesville and Albemarle’ Photography Contest.  This lucrative contest, launched in July 2016, invited visitors and local photographers alike to share their most captivating snapshots of the area and compete for one of the three cash prizes, worth $1,000, $500, and $250.

Tourism Revenue Grew in Charlottesville and Albemarle County in 2015

Charlottesville, Virginia – September 15, 2016 - Data released by the U.S. Travel Association reveals that all regions in Virginia posted an increase in tourism revenue last year. According to the U.S. Travel Association, tourism in Virginia generated $23 billion in travel spending. Tourism also supported 223,000 jobs in the Commonwealth and $1.6 billion in state and local taxes. The increase is largely attributed to Virginia’s authentic, local travel experiences, diversity of tourism product, and the notable efforts of the destination marketing organizations and their leadership.
Charlottesville, August 30, 2016 - The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau (CACVB) is thrilled to announce the results of a report provided by the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) that shows significant increases in both hotel room demand and room revenue.  The monthly lodging report clearly shows that the demand for hotel rooms in the Charlottesville area has increased by 11.5% compared to the same period in 2015.  Hotel room revenue has also increased by 14% compared to last year.

CACVB Announces the 'Capture Charlottesville and Albemarle' Photography Contest

The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau announced today a lucrative summer photography contest designed to identify the most captivating pictures of both Charlottesville and Albemarle County. The 'Capture Charlottesville and Albemarle' Photography Contest asks visitors and local photographers to share their most captivating snapshots of the area and compete for one of three cash prizes. The grand-prize winner will receive $1,000, with $500 and $250 prizes going to two runner-up participants. The CACVB invites both amateur and professional photographers to submit their best entries. Winners will be announced in early October 2016.
Charlottesville, VA (July 1, 2016) – The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau (CACVB) announced today that the popular Non-Profit Tourism Marketing Funding Program is now open.  The CACVB will hold an information orientation at City Space on July 7, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. and invites all interested organizations to attend and learn more about the application process, followed by time for questions and answers.
