Tourism Marketing Sponsorship Grant Program
NEW TOURISM MARKETING SPONSORSHIP GRANT PROGRAM NOW OPEN!
It is with tremendous enthusiasm that the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau (CACVB) announces the launch of its new Tourism Marketing Sponsorship Grant Program, providing marketing funding for festivals, cultural events, the arts and tourism initiatives. The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, May 1, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
This new tiered funding process will give first time and veteran applicants, whether not-for-profit or business entities, the opportunity to apply for marketing funding for events that begin no sooner than July 1, 2017 and conclude on or before June 30, 2018. Similar to the two previous programs administered by the CACVB for marketing funding, this new program will require applicants to demonstrate how they will market and promote their event to attract prospective visitors to the greater Charlottesville area.
Organizations who were approved for funding in FY18 through the former process will not be eligible for funding until FY19.
It is advisable for applicants to download the documents below and to fully understand the guidelines and responsibilities as outlined. Applicants are encouraged to thoroughly read and understand the CACVB policy and application requirements. Most important is for applicants to indicate which tier they are applying under.
Deadline for submitting completed applications is Tuesday, May 1, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. All questions regarding the application and process must be addressed no later than three (3) days prior to the deadline. Applicants are encouraged to contact Kurt Burkhart, CACVB Executive Director, with any questions by email prior to submitting applications. Applications that do not include required information will not be considered.
All applications and supporting materials must be sent in PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org as receipt will be determined by email delivery. In addition to email submission, original hard copies must also be received at the CACVB’s downtown office in the Transit - Visitor Center Building no later than close of business on May 1, 2017. The CACVB office is next to the Sprint Pavilion and across from City Hall on the Downtown Mall.
*The CACVB will host an information orientation session to meet prospective applicants on Monday, April 10th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at CitySpace.
