Gordonsville Historic District

During the middle decades of the 19th century, Gordonsville was an important transportation center, being at the junction of 2 railroads and 2 major western turnpikes. One still feels the spirit of earlier times by strolling down tree-lined streets bordered by a large and varied collection of antebellum and Victorian residences. Of special architectural interest are several churches dating from the 1850's through the 1870's. On the National Register of Historic Places.
