Michie Tavern’s Dining Room features hearty midday fare offered by servers in period attire in a rustic Tavern setting. Recipes dating back to the 1700’s render a dining experience rich in southern culture and hospitality for families to enjoy. The traditional bill of fare features our renowned colonial fried chicken, marinated baked chicken and hickory smoked pork barbecue . . . all of which complement such southern staples as black-eyed peas, stewed tomatoes, cornbread, buttermilk biscuits and much more. Our Andalucía (gazpacho) is a refreshing highlight throughout the summer months. Did you know Southern food could be healthy? We have numerous choices for our guests with special dietary needs including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. (All options peanut free). Virginia wines and traditional lagers are available to slake your thirst. The dessert menu offers such delicacies as peach cobbler a’ la mode. Many visitors enjoy the Tavern’s southern buffet as their main meal of the day. Midday Fare is offered 11:15 a.m. -3:30 p.m. daily.
