Skylights, a spiral staircase leading to a balcony and an upstairs bedroom, a large stone fire-place, working wood-stove, cork floors and cobble-stone walls in the newly renovated kitchen, and cathedral ceilings in the master bedroom and living room add charm and an open feeling to the space. A large kitchen with all butcher block counters is perfect for entertaining or cooking for a crowd and there is a brand-new two-burner propane grill on the back deck for cook-outs with the spring peepers under the stars on warm Virginia summer nights. There is both a washer and dryer, each under a year old, easily accessible from the master bedroom but discreetly hidden in an attractive wooden side-board. One bedroom includes a large partner's desk and fold-out futon couch if office space is needed. Firewood, kindling, and pine firestarter are provided as are towels, linens, basic toiletries, and basic kitchen seasonings, utensils and dishes. Flat-screen television, a DVD player, wireless internet, as well as books and games are available for entertainment and work. Other amenities and surprises are supplied for long-stays and over the holidays.
