Running

Picturesque and well-maintained running trails weave in and out of the town. Outside Magazine named Charlottesville the "Best Trail Running" place in the country.

Road races are also popular here. Our oldest, the Charlottesville Ten Miler has been around since 1975. Streets are closed for the thousands of people running throughout the City and County.

The Charlottesville Marathon, held each April, was called "One of the Top Destination Marathons in the country," by the New York TimesThe Daily Burn recognized the Charlottesville Marathon as one of the 15 Best Spring Marathons in the U.S. Countless other races wind through the beautiful trails and roads of Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
