MID-ATLANTIC TOURISM PUBLIC RELATIONS ALLIANCE QUARTERLY MEETING
The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau welcomes tourism public relations professionals from multiple states today
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (January 23, 2015) - The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) is proud to welcome colleagues from multiple mid-Atlantic destinations as a host of the winter quarterly meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Tourism Public Relations Alliance (MATPRA). The meeting will take place today at the Paramount Theater on the historic Downtown Mall.
More than forty tourism public and media relations professionals from Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia will gather today to discuss topics of interest. "This organization provides opportunities for brainstorming and information sharing," says Brigitte Belanger-Warner, Director of Sales & Marketing for the CACVB. "As the person in charge of media relations for our organizations, I benefit greatly from my counterparts' experiences and knowledge. It is such an honor to have them all here in Charlottesville, and have them visit during a time when tourism to our area tends to be slower," says Brigitte.
The Mid-Atlantic Tourism Public Relations Alliance is a cohesive unit of regional tourism partners encompassing Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia. The alliance strives to serve travel journalists by offering resources that ignore geographic boundaries, as do travelers. Common threads and regional highlights are identified to offer more saleable stories for journalists that are interested in offering the prospective of Mid-Atlantic destinations as a whole. More information about this organization can be found at www.matpra.org.
The group will meet through mid-afternoon today only. Interview requests: Please contact Bri Warner, (434) 806-3246.
