1. Become a Trusted Source with a Listing

Visitors see VisitCharlottesville.org as a reliable source of information. Being listed boosts your legitimacy and makes travelers more confident choosing you. Tourism-related businesses can request a free listing through the Partner Registration Form. Already have a listing? Log in through the Partner Portal to update copy, images and links to keep information relevant.

2. Put your Events in Front of Engaged Visitors

Visitor-focused events that take place in Charlottesville and Albemarle County can be listed on the Events Calendar for free! Use the Events Submission Form to get your event on one of the top‑visited pages on VisitCharlottesville.org.

3. Get Early Access to Opportunities Through our Newsletter

Sign up for our partner newsletter for access to news, training and networking opportunities, grant announcements, and sales updates. Communication is sent monthly.

4. Stay Top of Mind with our Visitors

Our Travel Specialists directly influence where visitors go, so knowing your business helps them recommend you to travelers ready to take action. They reach visitors through the Mobile Visitor Centers, mailed and bulk brochures, and by answering questions via phone and email. They can also provide planning materials through our Bulk Order Form.

5. Create Stronger First Impressions and Increase Visibility

We’re always building guides, social posts, itineraries, and seasonal campaigns using partner photos. Photos help us accurately represent your vibe, whether it’s adventurous, relaxing, family‑friendly, or upscale, leading to better matches with visitor interests. You can upload these photos or videos through Snapsea.

6. Leverage Research and Funding Resources

Plan smarter by leveraging research and resources we’ve collected. Long-term plans, like our Tourism Master Plan, visitor research, and grant opportunities can be found on our Research and Funding Resources page.

Explore our initiatives - Job Fairs, Tourism for All, and more!

We actively build multi-stakeholder partnerships within the community to further develop our destination.

Looking to hire? We work with local schools and educational organizations to expose students to careers in the hospitality and tourism industry. Our K-12 workforce programming includes exploration days and fieldtrips, school presentations, and job fairs. To get involved in this work or participate in an upcoming job fair, contact development@visitcharlottesville.org.

Apply for Grant Funding & Sponsorships

If you are looking for funding assistance to support initiatives and projects, the Destination Development team can help connect you to upcoming opportunities.

We focus on experiences that appeal to the visitor. Generally, these experiences attract individuals from 50+ miles away and generate overnight visitation. Below are a few organizations that offer reoccurring funding opportunities.

Group Sales

Charlottesville and Albemarle County is a popular destination for group tours including students, retirees, reunions, work retreats, and more.

If your business is interested in opportunities to host meetings or groups, email our Sales Manager Teresa Lamb at tlamb@albemarle.org. If you are planning a large group event in the area, you can submit a Request for Proposal for your event needs.

Advertise with us

Ad space is available to purchase on targeted pages across our website. These ads appear on pages such as Places to Stay or Things to Do and are different from the free listings all business are welcome to set up. You are also welcome to sponsor blog content.

Host the mobile visitor center at your event

Our travel specialists bring our two Mobile Visitor Centers (MVCs) to various spots in the community on a set weekly schedule. The MVCs are also available to book for special events.

In the past, our MVCs have served visitors at events like UVA Tailgates, Winter Wander at the Boar's Head Resort, and the Grand Illumination on the Downtown Mall. Email info@visitcharlottesville.org to inquire about booking.

Request Brochures for your patrons

We can help you supply your guests or patrons with local maps, brochures, and Visitor Guides. Complete our Bulk Order Form and one of our Travel Specialists will assemble what you need. Orders can be shipped to you or picked up at the CACVB office.
