Full-service hotel, located just north of downtown and the University of Virginia, completes extensive structural and interior design upgrades to guest rooms, business center, lobby and new restaurant.
Charlottesville, VA -- July 22, 2019 - DoubleTree by Hilton Charlottesville, part of DoubleTree by Hilton’s global portfolio of more than 560 upscale hotels, announces the completion of an extensive multi-million dollar renovation. The multi-year project includes complete structural and interior design upgrades to all guest rooms, the front desk, business center and lobby, which now features added fireplaces, additional seating and a comfortable library.
The hotel, located just five miles from the University of Virginia, also now holds a brand new restaurant, Root 29 Craft Kitchen & Bar, featuring cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients.
“We’re excited for guests to experience the exceptional comfort of staying with us, following our extensive enhancements and improvements,” says Callan Hamann, General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Charlottesville. “From our interior upgrades and many amenities to our amazing new restaurant, we now offer lodging that complements the best of Charlottesville, a vibrant place where people come to enjoy a wide variety of events and attractions.”
In addition to the comfort and contemporary décor of the newly renovated rooms, business and leisure travelers can access Charlottesville’s largest conference facility with over 16,000 square feet of space for meetings, weddings and reunions. The hotel’s sales and catering teams are available to help customize all events.
Located a short drive north of downtown and the University of Virginia, and just four miles from Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport, DoubleTree by Hilton Charlottesville sits alongside the Rivanna River and also features a range of complimentary amenities such as WiFi, a 24-hour business center, an indoor pool and a fitness center with modern equipment. The hotel also features two ballrooms and an outside garden patio.
Opened back in May, Root 29 Craft Kitchen & Bar tastefully blends a casual and upscale atmosphere, thanks to amenities such as a 16-seat bar, wine wall, fireplace, private dining options, big-screen TVs, and happy hour specials. The restaurant’s culinary team of skilled chefs creates a menu that focuses on showcasing the best food and beverages being produced by local vendors and farmers in Charlottesville and the surrounding area.
“We are always looking to support this community in every choice we make – especially through locally sourced ingredients and food and beverage options,” says Ron Lindemann, Executive Chef of Root 29 Craft Kitchen & Bar. “Luckily, Charlottesville makes this easy thanks to businesses like Albemarle Baking Company, Homestead Creamery, Three Notch’d Brewing and Barboursville Winery.”
