The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau brought LOVE to the Historic Downtown Mall in celebration of the Virginia Film Festival

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (November 4, 2014) - The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) is happy to announce that it has brought LOVE to the Historic Downtown Mall, in the form of an art display commissioned by the Virginia Tourism Corporation.  The artwork is positioned in front of the nTelos Wireless Pavilion, at the east end of Main Street.  This will encourage locals and visitors to stroll the entire Mall, and have their photo taken with the iconic sign when they come downtown to take part in Virginia Film Festival activities.

The oversized LOVE artwork is 16 feet long and more than six feet high. It is part of the Virginia is for Lovers tourism campaign and promotes the message that love is at the heart of every Virginia vacation.  Visitors are encouraged to take a family picture in front of the artwork and share it on Facebook at or on Twitter, using the special hashtag #LOVEVA, as well as on the CACVB's Instagram @CharlottesvilleVA or on the Experience Charlottesville Facebook page.

"Our iconic Virginia is for Lovers brand is about love - pure and simple, and has been for more than 40 years," said Rita McClenny, president and CEO of the Virginia Tourism Corporation. "We are excited to share the LOVE at locations throughout the Commonwealth where so many people can enjoy being a part of it. It reminds us that Virginia is an ideal destination for families looking to completely connect on a Virginia vacation."

"We are thrilled to have brought the LOVE artwork to Downtown Charlottesville during the Virginia Film Festival," said Kurt Burkhart, Executive Director for the CACVB.  "The eye-catching sign will draw a lot of attention and help spread the word about our destination as an amazing place to visit all year round, and especially during the staple event that is the Virginia Film Festival."
