Join Terrel White of Out and About for a special tour of the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers on UVA Grounds. This special guided tour offers a history of the enslaved laborers' resistance and resilience at the University and showcases the advocacy of community members and students to fully acknowledge and memorialize their labor. MEL tours were designed by the Descendants of Enslaved Communities and last roughly one hour.

Center Pride Movie Night: Stonewall Uprising - 2:00pm

When police raided the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar in the Greenwich Village section of New York City on June 28, 1969, the street erupted into violent protests that lasted for the next six days. The Stonewall riots, as they came to be known, marked a major turning point in the modern gay civil rights movement in the United States and around the world. All are welcome to attend.

It is not shocking that June would have so many LGBTQ+ events, but would you be surprised to learn that there are gatherings every month? You can find an even larger list of events here, including those hosted by Out and About.

Out and About was founded to provide at least three socials for the LGBTQ+ community every month! Activities vary by time, day, and type every month, but have included everything from hiking to happy hours, bowling nights to pickleball days, arts and crafts to potlucks.
