Where to Find Live Music in Charlottesville

A recent addition to the live music options in the area is Music in the Mill Room at the Boar’s Head Resort. Hosted every Wednesday and Friday throughout the year, enjoy live music with your meal from 5:30-8:30PM.

Carter Mountain Orchard hosts a very special Thursday Evening Sunset Series through early October each year, with different bands and food trucks pop-up each week. Attendees can bring their lawn chairs and blankets to set out on the grass and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Tickets are required for access to the top of the mountain.

This free concert series takes place every Friday from mid-April through early-September at the Ting Pavilion (an open-air stage at the east end of the historic Downtown Mall). The 2025 summer schedule features local artists performing a wide range of musical styles and will see collaborations with a number of local organizations, celebrating the diverse and creative communities throughout Charlottesville; there is truly something for everyone!

Each week, volunteers work the concessions (food and drinks) on behalf of a variety of local non-profits who share in the proceeds, which raises tens of thousands of dollars to support their work in our community.

Head to the Rivanna River Company for an evening of music and fun in partnership with The Front Porch! The Rivanna Roots Concert Series is underway, with shows every other Saturday throughout the summer. Hang out on the grass and enjoy live music and refreshments. 1. Pro Re Nata in Crozet has unique outdoor stages and viewing areas (some constructed of shipping containers). It's a great place to catch a show on the weekends. They were voted 'Best Small Local Brewery and Best Small Music Venue' in 2022.
2. Bottle House hosts live music on Fridays evenings from 5-8PM.
3. Chisholm Vineyards' Sunset Soiree features live music from local artists on Fridays from 6-9PM.
4. Albemarle CiderWorks hosts mid-afternoon live music in the orchard on the weekends.
5. Batesville Market, a country store in rural Albemarle County, has a long history of bringing the community together through music! Keep an eye on their calendar for rotating artists.
6. The Whiskey Jar almost always has live music in the evenings, especially during the summer months.
7. Eastwood Farm & Winery hosts upbeat & fun bands every Saturday night from 5-8PM. Dancing is encouraged!

Start your weekend off with some calming tunes and great drinks. The Sunset Soiree at Chisholm Vineyards and Adventure Farm is a great way to finish off the work week and the vineyards location gives you a great view of the sun going down over the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bands and artists from throughout Central Virginia frequent the stage, and local food trucks will also be onsite with diverse food options. Children and dogs are welcome. Relax on weekends throughout the year with mid-afternoon music in the orchard. Light bites and cider are available for sale by glass, bottle or flight and outside food is welcome, making for a great opportunity for a picnic in southern Albemarle County. This historic country store has a storied background in providing an intimate and unique space for live music. Many talented acts have performed on the Batesville Stage, and the now-famous evenings of outdoor music are an experience to be had in rural Albemarle County. The Batesville Market also has an incredible menu of food with deli sandwiches galore. The beer and wine options at the market are also a solid representation of some great libations from all over the world.
