The Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society is a local non-profit dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich and complex history of the Albemarle-Charlottesville area. ACHS offers regularly programming, exhibits, publications, oral history collection, genealogical services, and other educational programs.
The ACHS Research Library contains thousands of books, periodicals, pamphlets, manuscripts, and maps and the museum collections includes over 1,500 artifacts of historical significance to our community.
ACHS is open to the public with no admission charge Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm. Please send all research inquiries to library@albemarlehistory.org and any other questions to info@albemarlehistory.org or by phone at (434) 296-1492.
