"Another Day at the Office" - A Photography Exhibit by Billy Morris

Exhibit Opening for photographer Billy Morris - "Another Day at the Office" - images that explore the bucolic daily grind.

Native Virginian Billy Morris first discovered photography during a summer camp at the young age of thirteen. As his skills broaden and his interest in the subject grew, Morris accepted the role of Editor-in-Chief of his high school’s yearbook committee. Upon graduating high school, Morris attended Appalachian State University where he earned a degree in Technical Photography.

In 2003, Morris was fortunate enough to be granted an artist visa from the US government, allowing him to travel to Cuba, where, at the time, US citizen travel was restricted. Morris ventured to Cuba and began photographing the country. Inspired by its vibrancy, Cuban culture became the focus of Morris’ work. Morris compiled the photographs from his trip into an exhibit which has been shown in both Cuba and the United States.

In this upcoming show, new work will be displayed. The photographs in this exhibit reflect the beauty of our own rural Virginian countryside.

In addition to capturing images for himself and his clients, Morris has a strong passion for teaching photography. He enjoys sharing his skills and knowledge of photography with others. Morris recently held a workshop in Scottsville, Virginia and has more classes planned for this fall.
