Understanding Umami – one of our five basic tastes – adds a new element to everyday cooking. Complex and delicious, we strive (and often struggle) to incorporate umami when cooking. It’s the undeniable taste sensation you are familiar with in shiitake mushrooms, soy sauce, salmon, parmesan cheese and more. In this class, you’ll learn how to successfully cook with umami. Following the hands-on cooking demonstration, guests will enjoy a seated dinner hosted by Chef Ian Rynecki.
This class is part of our Reserve Class Series. Enjoy a smaller, more intimate class and an extra glass of wine. For the safety of our team and guests, all summer cooking classes will be operating at limited capacity.
