Join Andy Shelden and special guest trumpeter Kevin McKee at 2:00 p.m. on August 26, for an hour or so of cool blues (and an enticing tango or two). Andy and Kevin go way back - all the way to little old Yreka, California, where Andy studied with and later played with Kevin's father, Brian McKee. Andy and Kevin have collaborated many times in the past 30 years, both in church and concert. Free admission. Donations
accepted and will be applied to our church’s music ministry.
Kevin will also be collaborating with Andy in the music for the 10:30 morning
Eucharist on the 26th, presenting trumpet and organ works of Bach and Stanley.
This house of worship is a rare surviving example of the simple wooden Anglican parish churches scattered through Virginia in the colonial period. Erected to serve Frederick Parish, the building was first completed in 1747. The church was moved to its present site two miles to the west of its original location in 1860. more
