Emily Williams Distinguished Major Conducting Recital

The McIntire Department of Music presents Emily Williams' Distinguished Major Conducting Recital on Sunday, March 22nd at 8:00pm in Old Cabell Hall. Emily is a fourth year double majoring in Music and Statistics. Emily is a Miller Arts Scholar and performs with the University Singers and Chamber Singers as well as studies violin with David Sariti. She has also enjoyed being involved with student theatre productions including playing in the pit for multiple shows and vocal directing First Year Players' production of Anything Goes and Spectrum Theatre's production of Heathers.
This recital will feature choral and orchestral works conducted by Emily and performed by student musicians from across grounds. Emily has enjoyed playing and singing throughout her studies at UVA but discovered her love for conducting while studying with her advisors Professors Michael Slon and Benjamin Rous.
Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA's historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda. Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, in the C1 parking lot off McCormick Rd, and in the parking lots at the UVA Corner. Handicap parking is available in the small parking lot adjacent to Bryan Hall.
This recital is supported by the Charles S. Roberts Scholarship Fund. Established in 2004 by the generosity of Mr. Alan Y. Roberts ('64) and Mrs. Sally G. Roberts, the Charles S. Roberts Scholarship Fund underwrites the private lessons and recital costs for undergraduate music majors giving a recital in their fourth year as part of a distinguished major program in music.
