Front Porch Bluegrass Camp

Aspiring pickers and bluegrass enthusiasts are invited to gather for the first ever Front Porch Bluegrass Camp, August 8th – 11th, located at the Front Porch in Charlottesville, VA.
Group classes for kids ages 7-12 will be held from 1pm – 4pm.  Adults and teens will have their own classes in the afternoon from 5pm – 7pm.
Students will participate in classes in the bluegrass instrument of their choice, with options ranging from fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, and bass. Students will start out in groups by instrument to learn new tunes and will then come together to try out their new skills in a band setting.  Camp participants should have some familiarity with their instruments and be comfortable holding their instrument, playing a few basic tunes, and strumming basic chords.
The Front Porch Bluegrass Camp will be led by Front Porch teachers Jack Dunlap and Malia Furtado, joined by special guests Buddy Dunlap, Cody Brown, and Dean Phillips, to provide instruction in the full bluegrass line-up (banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and bass).
