Introductory Plein Air Painting Workshop

Introductory Plein Air Painting Workshop
9:30 am - 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 26th

Painters, old and new, come out to enjoy Kluge-Ruhe’s beautiful grounds for our family friendly Plein Air acrylic painting workshop! Come alone, bring a friend, or bring a child for some outdoor painting back-to-school fun! We will begin with a tour of plein air watercolors painted by Aboriginal artists in Hermmansburg, followed by an introduction to landscape painting by artist and museum educator Fenella Belle. Afterward we will move outdoors to paint a west-facing view of the Blue Ridge from the back lawn. This program is for ages 5 to 100. Grownups are asked to share a one-on-one or one-on-two painting experience with their children. All materials are provided, however experienced painters are welcome to bring their own supplies. Space is limited so register now while spots are open!

Materials Provided: water bottles, acrylic paint, canvas board per person, brushes, water, and cleaning supplies.
