Join Second Street Gallery on Friday, December 3, 2021 for the opening evening of two group exhibitions: “Inside the Artist’s Studio” in the Main Gallery and “The Third Mind” in the Dové Gallery. The gallery will be open on First Friday, December 3 from 4-7:30PM. Participating artists from both exhibitions will be present throughout the evening to chat with visitors.

Exploring the artist’s studio as a generative and intimate space, “Inside the Artist’s Studio” pairs one local photographer with one local artist to form a long-term creative relationship. The exhibition will feature photographs of each artist creating work in their studio alongside the finished artworks. Participating artist pairs in this exhibition include: Courtney Coker and Lauren Moses; Derrick J. Waller and Akemi Ohira; Jesús Pino and Abigail Wilson; Kori Price and Meesha Goldberg; and Benita Mayo and Ashon Crawley. This exhibition is generously sponsored by Roy Cadoff & Debbie White, Martin Horn, Inc., and Bama Works.

Inspired by the artistic collaboration and friendship between Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, “The Third Mind” exhibition partners artists in pairs and challenges each pair to create a single collaborative painting for exhibition at Second Street Gallery. Participating artist pairs in this exhibition include: Erika Chu and Andrea Ruedy Trimble; Zoé Edgecomb and Lisa Macchi; Brittany Fan and Ryan Trott; Diana Hale and Priscilla Whitlock; Lou Haney and Tobiah Mundt; Chris Haske and Steve Haske; Valencia Robin and Sarah Boyts Yoder; Kweisi Morris and Andrew Sherogan; Joan H. Ranzini and Susan Crave Rosen; Laura Josephine Snyder and Kathryn Wingate; and Benford D. Stellmacher and Derrick J. Waller. This exhibition is generously sponsored by Journey Group and Bama Works.

Both exhibitions will be on view from December 3, 2021 through January 21, 2021. Learn more about the exhibitions on our website (
