South American Cello Octets

The UVA McIntire Department of Music presents a concert of South American music for eight cellos. The concert will feature original works for cello octet by Heitor Villa-Lobos. His Bachianas Brasilieras No. 1 for eight cellos, and his Bachianas Brasileras no. 5 for eight cellos and soprano. Also featured on the program is an arrangement of Astor Piazzolla's Four Seasons.

This free concert takes place at 8pm on Monday, April 15th at 8pm in the UVa Chapel. Cellists Megan Berntsen, Adam Cooper, Brent Davis, John Kanu, Nicholas Rupert, Daniel Song, Isabella Tucker, and Josef Zimmerman will be performing.
The UVA Chapel is located on McCormick Road adjacent to the Rotunda and across the street from Alderman Library. (map) Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, and along the streets by the Chapel. The Chapel is accessible to all and handicap parking is available directly across the street.
