Les Yeux du Monde is pleased to present Susan Mcalister: Land Patterns. Susan Mcalister is best known for her juicy semi-abstractions that are based on her love of land and place. This latest solo show of Mcalister was inspired by artist Cy Twombly who split his time lived in Lexington, VA and Italy. Mcalister writes of the origin of this exhibition was due to a day spent retracing Twombly's Virginia: "books he ordered, papers he used, splattered paint left in his studio. A particular green. I left reconsidering how to express space and place through the use of color and pattern. I revisited poets and mythology. Everyday views become mythical environments where past, present and future collide. Imagined combines with real, abstraction with representation". Susan Mcalister's exhibition will be up at Les Yeux du Monde from October 6 to November 12!
