Learn the answers to these questions by joining the Montpelier Curatorial and Collections staff for an inaugural public program entitled “Collections Care at Montpelier”. During this interactive two-and-a-half-day program, you will immerse yourself in the world of museum collections care:

Enjoy presentations about the preventive conservation measures used by Montpelier staff to fight the agents of deterioration.

Learn how they keep track of and physically care for over four thousand objects in the collection, and how they research and use the objects to bring exhibits to life.

Take a private, specialty house tour during which Montpelier experts will seamlessly integrate the material culture with the rich history of Montpelier.

Participate in hands-on activities where you will learn how to examine, catalog, and photograph museum objects; and to look at museum displays in new and different ways.

Throughout it all, embrace the unique opportunity to learn, appreciate, and participate in the preservation of this important historic place.
