Charlottesville goes toe to toe with the greatest cities in the world when it comes to booking musical talent.

Steadfast support of local acts brought the world the Dave Matthews Band. Dave is still our most famous local musician, but the scene that incubated his early career is strong as ever. Live music can be heard every night of the week at Miller's on the Downtown Mall. Venues like the Ting Pavilion, the Jefferson Theater, the Southern, and The Front Porch attract larger acts. Stadium tours regularly book shows at the John Paul Jones Arena. In summer, the Ting Pavilion hosts a free concert series, Fridays After Five, on Fridays after five o' clock, which makes sense given the name!
