Second Street Gallery is pleased to celebrate the opening of two new exhibitions on December 5, 5:00PM-7:30PM, as part of First Fridays.

In the Main Gallery, "Passenger: Riding the Rails" presents an expansive collection of photographic works by Charlottesville-based artist Stacey Evans. Images selected for this exhibition depict Evans’ travels as a passenger on Amtrak’s Northeast Regional line and the route between Charlottesville, Virginia, and New York City, highlighting the transitions between urban and rural landscapes.

"Possibility," Courtney Coker’s solo exhibition in the Dové Gallery, features vivid imagery documenting a once-thriving farmhouse in rural Virginia. Coker’s images document the house's decay and the rewilding process as nature reclaims its space, serving as a metaphorical expression of the artist's personal journey of self-discovery and transformation.

"Passenger: Riding the Rails" is generously sponsored by Pamela Friedman and Ronald Bailey, Leigh Rockey, Jaszi Butler PLLC, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
