Rainbow Kitten Surprise has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes to the Rainbow Kitten Surprise Fund, dedicated to building a more just and compassionate world by uplifting marginalized communities, expanding access to vital resources, and delivering critical support in times of need.
As if channeling another dimension where genres simply don’t exist, Rainbow Kitten Surprise finds harmony in unpredictability – weaving together lyrical poetry, hummable melodies, and a rush of instrumental eccentricities. Now boasting over 2 billion global streams across platforms, the band first began building their devoted fanbase with independent albums SEVEN + MARY(2013) and RKS (2015). On September 26, the band released their most collaborative and quintessentially Rainbow Kitten Surprise album yet, bones. Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant, Orville Peck, Lainey Wilson), the record is both an incredible return to form and a distinct elevation from their previous releases, earning praise from the Los Angeles Times, PAPER, Billboard, and more. This came on the heels of Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s first album in six years, LOVE HATE MUSIC BOX, released in May 2024. Produced by Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves) along with Konrad Snyder (Noah Kahan) and lead singer Ela Melo, the record was met with critical praise from Billboard, Consequence, Paste, and more. LOVE HATE MUSIC BOX followed the band’s breakout full-length debut for Elektra, HOW TO: FRIEND, LOVE, FREEFALL, which arrived in April 2018. Also produced by Jay Joyce, the album featured RIAA-certified Platinum single “It’s Called: Freefall,” earned widespread praise from Billboard, TIME, Vice, and NPR, and saw the band make several national television appearances, including performances on “CBS Saturday Morning,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and PBS’s “Austin City Limits.”
