Refuge & Renewal: Stories of Hope

Join us for an evening dedicated to amplifying refugee voices through powerful storytelling. This event will feature engaging panel discussions that bring to light the resilience, challenges, and triumphs of displaced individuals. Attendees will hear firsthand accounts from refugees and community advocates, fostering a deeper understanding of their journeys and the support needed to rebuild lives.

Your participation will not only raise funds for critical resources but also contribute to a more inclusive and informed community. Together, we can turn awareness into action and make a lasting impact.

We are collaborating with our long-time partners at WTJU to strengthen voices of refugees and newcomers in our community. One panel will focus on the refugee experience, exploring the impacts of fleeing one's home country and after many, varied, long journeys, resettling in Charlottesville. A second panel will include perspectives from refugees as well as staff at WTJU, who have built their careers around the impact of storytelling. Over the past few years, the IRC in Charlottesville have partnered with WTJU to provide resettled individuals a platform to share their experiences in a podcast project and radio interviews.
