The Cavalier Food Pantry, as part of our annual SouperBowl of Caring Donation Drive, is hosting a public UVA screening of The Invisible Epidemic, a new documentary about college hunger in Virginia and the fight to pass the Hunger Free Campus Bill. Featuring interviews with state representatives, campus food pantry leaders, and students, as well as poetry by Kim B Miller, this behind-the-scenes look at the ‘invisible epidemic’ of student hunger is a sobering, galvanizing, and ultimately poignant testament to the power of activism.
Entry to the screening is free and open to the public, and bringing canned goods or donating money is highly encouraged and greatly appreciated! The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Daniel McCain and CASS Senior Assistant Dean of Students Jackie Khawand Ward. RSVP for a seat at the link, and bring friends/family!
