The Oratorio Society of Virginia presents: Christmas at The Paramount

Charlottesville’s beloved downtown holiday tradition will feature Camille Saint-Saëns’ radiant "Christmas Oratorio" with guest soloists Brian Thorsett (tenor) and Veronica Siebert (mezzo). Composed in 1858, this oratorio is intimate and gentle, with a pastoral, almost hymn-like character. The work blends the grandeur of Baroque oratorios with Romantic-era emotionalism, and atmospheric writing for harp and string orchestra.
