Vibe Fest Presents 2K25 Uprising — 7th Annual Event

Charlottesville, VA — Vibe Fest returns on November 15th with 2K25 Uprising, a dynamic night of music, dance, and culture at The Front Porch. This year’s festival lineup embodies Vibe Fest’s mission of unity, creativity, and cultural rhythm—featuring performances by MRC’s dance group Swerve, local powerhouse Jaewar & Vibe Riot, and legendary jazz-funk ensemble Plunky & Oneness.

The evening opens with Swerve’s electrifying choreography and vibrant energy, setting the tone for a night of movement and message. Following their performance, Jaewar & Vibe Riot will bring their genre-blending sound—a fearless fusion of funk, reggae, hip-hop, and soul that speaks to the times with uplifting and unapologetic intent. Closing out the night, Plunky & Oneness, led by renowned saxophonist and composer James “Plunky” Branch, will deliver a jazz-infused set leaning deep into the lush sensuality of ’90s R&B, creating a rich and unforgettable sonic experience.

Plunky & Oneness bring decades of artistry to the stage, with a catalog of more than 30 albums and performances alongside icons like Patti LaBelle, Ray Charles, and Lonnie Liston Smith. Fresh off their recent performance at The Reveler, Plunky’s ensemble continues to blend jazz, funk, soul, and African rhythms into a uniquely conscious groove.

Meanwhile, Jaewar & Vibe Riot—the heartbeat of Vibe Fest—continue their mission of art as activism and rhythm as resistance. Having shared stages with Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Steel Pulse, and Michael Franti & Spearhead, their high-vibration performances reflect the essence of community, collaboration, and celebration that define the Vibe Fest experience.
