Horseback riding can be a great way to spend some of your vacation time while staying at Graves Mountain Lodge. Syria Stables offers trail rides to guests of the lodge, as well as to those in the local area wishing for a fun day trip!

The one/two hour guided rides will take you through the Blue Ridge Mountains and the apple orchards of Graves Mountain to sample some spectacular scenery. The full day rides for those wishing to be more adventurous, leave at 9:30 AM for a beautiful ride through the Blue Ridge Mountains up to Big Meadows of the Shenandoah National Park. Have lunch on the trail and be back to the stables in time for supper at the lodge. For the little ones who are too young to ride the trails, we offer lead-line horse rides in between the schedule trail rides.

Syria Stables is open everyday, except Tuesdays. Ride schedules do vary during annual festivals. Ride times are 9:30 AM, 11 AM, 1:30 PM, 3:30 PM & 5 PM. Please call the lodge at 540-923-4231 to schedule your ride and more information on rates.

For those wishing to bring their own horses and ride, we welcome you too! We have a large parking field for rough camping with those in horse trailers. Potable water is available for fill ups. $5 per horse for day parking or $10 per horse for overnight parking. Negative coggins paperwork required. Plenty of room to camp and relax!
