When Thomas Jefferson and Italian Filippo Mazzei decided to establish a vineyard, they chose the land between Monticello and Ash-Lawn – the site of present day Jefferson Vineyards. With financial backing of many of our nation’s Founding Fathers, Jefferson and Mazzei aspired to produce the wines we now bottle: Meritage, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot.
Come sample our award-winning wines, tour the winery and browse the gift shop. Bring a picnic lunch and relax on the deck among the mountains. We’re open from 11 am to 5 pm (Monday - Thursday) and 10 am to 6 pm (Friday - Sunday). Depending on staff availability, our tours at 1pm & 2pm. Tasting are $10. Groups of 8 or more are $15. We also offer private tastings. Our neighbor, SALT, offers artisanal food. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
