When Thomas Jefferson and Italian Filippo Mazzei decided to establish a vineyard, they chose the land between Monticello and Ash-Lawn – the site of present day Jefferson Vineyards. With financial backing of many of our nation’s Founding Fathers, Jefferson and Mazzei aspired to produce the wines we now bottle: Meritage, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot.
Come sample our award-winning wines. Bring a picnic lunch and relax on the deck with views of the mountains. We are open seven days a week. Tastings are $12 and include a souvenir glass. Private group tastings are available with a reservation ONLY and special pricing. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Our tasting room closes early on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
