Request Media Assistance

The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) welcomes your interest in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia. We are happy to assist travel media with suggested itineraries and to facilitate visits to attractions, performing arts venues, restaurants and other points of interest for articles, books and broadcasts.

Depending on the nature of your assignment, the CACVB may be able to assist with accommodations, passes to attractions, and some of the meals.

Please allow three weeks advance notice for media hosting and itinerary assistance. If you are unable to meet the three-week notification, we will try our best to accommodate you, but our assistance may be more limited.

In addition, we request that you send two samples of travel-related articles or coverage published in the past 12 months.

Please note that complimentary arrangements are provided at the discretion of the host business and are subject to availability. Black-out periods can occur that may necessitate a press rate, particularly at hotels.

Journalists are responsible for their own transportation to and from Charlottesville. On occasion, the CACVB can assist with transportation within our destination as part of a media visit.

In addition, please understand that our primary concern is assisting working media and host locations are not always able to accommodate accompanying spouses, children and friends. When space permits, travel writers may bring one guest on media tours. However, that guest may be responsible for the cost of his or her own meals. Individuals under the age of 18 may not participate in media tours.
