Have an event you want to advertise? Follow the directions below in order to have your events listed in our online calendar.

This calendar is an opportunity to highlight those events and experiences that define the Charlottesville/Albemarle Area. Our events page is commonly the most visited page on our website. Prospective visitors use this calendar in advance of making travel plans, as well as in the moment, once they have arrived. We hope to provide useful guidance for visitors looking to find information on these events to plan their upcoming visits to the area and encourage them to revisit often.

Event Calendar Policies

Be sure your event meets these criteria before submitting in the form below:

  1. Events must be held in Albemarle County, the City of Charlottesville, or the Town of Scottsville. We also accept events held at wineries within the Monticello AVA.
  2. Events must provide a visitor-focused experience and be held in person.
  3. Events must be open to the public – free or ticketed, and relatively easy to attend. Consider posting events that highlight unique offerings and signature programs.
  4. Non-eligible events include community meetings, political events and rallies, and club events, as well as regular business operations.
  5. We encourage the submission of the event as soon as details are finalized. A minimum of three weeks in advance is preferred.
  6. A high-quality horizontal photo is required for each event. Recommended photos are those that help attract visitors. (Recommended 800x600)
  7. Events will generally be approved within 2-3 business days.
  8. Events advertising discounted alcohol will not be accepted. These events should focus on the event’s theme, activities, and atmosphere.
  9. Approval of events is up to the discretion of the CACVB.
  10. Please be sure to remove any events that have sold out or been cancelled.
