Local Guide to Enjoying Cider in Charlottesville & Albemarle County

Did you know that cider apples have been grown in Virginia since the mid 1700s? In fact, Thomas Jefferson dabbled in cidermaking himself at Monticello! It's safe to say that cider is a big deal here in Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

Each year, we honor the rich cider-making heritage of the state with Virginia Cider Week. In 2025, that week falls on Nov. 16th-22nd. Celebrate by planning a visit to enjoy tasting some of our local ciders or enjoying a local event (or two!)
