Albemarle CiderWorks

Albemarle CiderWorks is a family-owned cidery nestled among orchards featuring more than 250 varieties of vintage apple trees. The cidery produces small-batch, dry-style ciders that highlight the heirloom apples that thrive in Albemarle County, Virginia.

Its award-winning ciders have earned international recognition, including three Gold Medals and Best of Show (Sparkling Category) at the 2025 CiderWorld Competition in Frankfurt, Germany, as well as a Gold Medal at the 2025 Japan Cider Cup. Albemarle CiderWorks has also received numerous honors at regional and national cider competitions.

Beyond cider making, Albemarle CiderWorks operates a nursery offering heirloom apple trees for sale each year after Thanksgiving. Throughout the year, the cidery hosts educational workshops on pruning, grafting, and planning and planting home orchards. While there is no pick-your-own orchard, fresh apples are available for purchase during the fall harvest season, and visitors can participate in heirloom apple tasting classes.
