University Guide Service is a student-run, volunteer organization that leads historical tours of the University of Virginia. Tours are offered daily when courses are in session, with the exception of home football game days. These tours cover the original University and Lawn area and begin from the Lower East Oval Room of the Rotunda, Sunday-Friday at 11 am, and Saturday at 11am and 3pm. Additionally, UGS offers a History of African Americans at UVA tour each Sunday at 3pm. No reservation is necessary for these regular tours.

University Guide Service also offers specialty and large-group historical tours by request. To ensure guide availability, special tour requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance. Tour options include general University history, Memorial to Enslaved Laborers at UVA, History of African Americans at UVA, History of Women at UVA, and tours geared to children's groups (Pre-K to 5th Grade).
