Join us for a special seasonal lineup of programs and tours that dig into the stories and traditions that make this time of year so rich, both past and present. Not unlike today, the Christmas holidays were marked by gatherings with friends and family during Jefferson’s lifetime.

Holiday Evening Tours

Join us for the rare opportunity to experience Monticello after dark. This tour offers an intimate look at how all people who lived on the Monticello mountaintop – enslaved and free – celebrated the holidays.

December 18-23; 26-27 at 5:15pm, 5:30pm, 5:45pm, 6:00pm, and 6:15pm

Family Holiday Tour

Designed for families with children ages 5 to 11 and featuring hands-on learning, this tour explores the first floor of the house and provides an intimate look at how all people who lived on the Monticello mountaintop — enslaved and free — celebrated the holidays.
