Join us for America's 250th anniversary. For over 60 years on Independence Day, Monticello's West Lawn turns into an outdoor courtroom where dozens of people take the Oath of Citizenship.

Governor Abigail Spanberger will deliver keynote remarks at this year's celebration. The Naturalization Ceremony takes place from 9:00–10:30 a.m. under a large, fan-cooled tent, followed by family fun until 2:30 p.m. Throughout the event, guests can enjoy live music, concessions, children's activities, and a Community Partner Tent. Admission is free, but reservations are required. Please note that clear bags are required for entry to the Naturalization Ceremony, with exceptions made for medical bags.
