Each standalone class is an invitation to immerse yourself in the artistry of watercolor painting, focusing on a different flower, perspectives, and color palettes every week. Join us as we explore the enchanting Virginia bluebells, the graceful wild columbine, the fiery flame azalea, the elegant wild geranium, and the delicate woodland phlox. Each week we use a combination of the following techniques: wet on wet, wet on dry, glazing, lifting, and charging.

Week 1 (May 1st): Virginia Bluebell

Week 2 (May 8th): Wild Columbine

Week 3 (May 15th): Flame Azalea

Immerse yourself in the vibrant hues of flame azalea with Blake as your guide. Discover techniques to portray the fiery beauty of this native Virginian flower in watercolor.

Week 4 (May 22nd): Wild Geranium

Continue the series with Blake by exploring the elegance of wild geranium. Learn to paint the delicate pink to purple flowers in this informative two-hour workshop.

Week 5 (May 29th): Woodland Phlox

Conclude the series with Blake by illustrating the charm of woodland phlox. Learn to capture the clusters of delicate pink or lavender flowers that bloom in Virginia's woodlands during May. This workshop will teach you techniques to portray the beauty of woodland phlox in watercolor.
