More InfoTourism for All Ambassadors
The Ambassador Program expands our industry’s understanding of the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) and our destination’s offerings through a mix of virtual learning and in-person engagement.
Ambassadors help instill pride in our community and serve as a friendly face to our visitors. Ambassadors act as a reliable source of information, promote our destination and generate excitement for our offerings. Becoming a CACVB ambassador means building relationships and providing visitors with a high level of customer service.
Being an ambassador offers several benefits, including increased knowledge of the industry, networking opportunities, and the chance to develop valuable skills. Participants that complete the program receive a certificate from the CACVB and are recognized at our annual Tourism for All Conference held in February.
How Do I Join?
This program is free for tourism partners located in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. To join, complete the registration form below. Partners can join at any time throughout the year and have one year from their start date to complete the program.
What are the Requirements?
- Ambassadors must watch one video about the CACVB and its operations.
- Ambassadors must attend two Destination 20+45 in-person sessions (3 held at the CACVB and TFA conference counting at 1). These sessions are free and open to industry members. Register here, space is limited.
- Ambassadors must watch three videos that expand the individual’s knowledge of our destination. Videos are hosted on our partner portal.
- Ambassadors must complete the four-question assignment at the end.
I’ve Registered, Now What?
Once you register, a confirmation email will be sent to you, along with a Canvas 101 document. Course materials are housed in Canvas, the CACVB’s Learning Management System (LMS). Ambassadors will be invited to the course “CACVB Ambassador Program.” Once members accept the Canvas invitation, you will have access to program materials. Any questions about Canvas or for help, can be emailed to development@visitcharlottesville.org.
Once you’ve completed the program, you will receive your certificate. Ambassadors have the additional option of taking part in our graduation at the annual Tourism for All Conference in February.
