Workforce & K12 Initiatives
The CACVB has ongoing partnerships with local schools and educational organizations. From job fairs to young professional panels, the CACVB can help put your business in front of students.
By educating students about the hospitality field and providing budding talent with opportunities to learn and job requirements, our destination can continue to develop a new generation of leadership. Check out ways to engage below.

Hospitality Job Fairs
The CACVB has partnered with Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) to host hospitality specific job fairs. Open to 20-30 businesses within Charlottesville and Albemarle County that support the tourism economy, these opportunities are free for both the businesses and students to participate. Job fairs are typically held in the spring and see about 200 students from each high school. Interested in hosting a fair or want to learn about other job seeking opportunities? Reach out to the Destination Development team.
Senior Stay Day & Community Fair
Senior Stay Day & Community Fair is a joint effort between UVA’s Pipeline & Pathways, ACPS, The Equity Center, and the CACVB. Held in March, this job fair sees about 400 high school students and 200 community job seekers. Free for businesses to participate, the event can accommodate over 100+ businesses looking to hire. The day includes lunch for employers and several professional workshops for job seekers. If you’re interested in hosting a table or becoming a partner, reach out to the Director of Visitor and Community Engagement.
Field Trips
Field trips enhance learning experiences beyond the classroom, making them more engaging and relevant to the everyday responsibilities of the job. Providing hands-on experiences fosters a deeper understanding of the hospitality industry and helps promote the business as a collaborator. If you’re interested in hosting high school students at your school representative looking for partners, please reach out to the Director of Visitor and Community Engagement. Previous trips have included Boar’s Head Resort, Hyatt Place Charlottesville, and Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards.
