The weekend kicks off with a remarkable weather outlook for Friday. Considering we are heading into the middle of December, our temperatures will be off-the-charts warm for this time of year. Sunny skies are expected for Friday and high temperatures will reach into the lower 60s. Considering our average highs for December are in the upper 40s, you can see why we’re so excited about the outlook! But it won’t just be Friday that we get to enjoy the 60s. Highs will remain in the low to mid 60s for the remainder of the weekend! Some periods of clouds will be possible from time to time, but raindrops should avoid Charlottesville & Albemarle County until next week.
This picture-perfect forecast means it’s a wonderful weekend to explore all that Charlottesville & Albemarle County have to offer. The list of safe visitor experiences will only be amplified by the nice weather, but the great outdoors will be wide open for exploring and enjoying. Winter hikes are a wonderful way to enjoy the region’s beauty – without dealing with the bugs. And with no leaves on the trees, views and vantage points open up that aren’t available during the warmer months.
After your adventures, be sure to grab a bite on the patio at one of our many locally-owned restaurants or explore the Downtown Mall and check out the decorated holiday tree beside the Paramount Theater. It’s also a great opportunity to get in some last-minute holiday shopping at one of the many boutique shops found in the region.
